My attempt at solving Midnight Motorist
Well, I'm going to do it! I am going to try to solve Midnight Motorist using several sources such as FLAF, The Minigame itself, TTF, and certain details I've noticed overall. Also, this post may be a bit long, so I recommend getting a drink and/or snack to have while reading this post!
Okay, so without further delay, let's get into it:
PART 1: Who is Mustard Man?
I think most of us can agree that this is probably the easiest part of the minigame to solve. Between the purple car, rainy weather, "later that night," and the Springbonnie antennae head, it's so obvious that Mustard Man is William Afton. I think the reason why he's mustard colored here, is to show that he's wearing a rain coat due to the rainy weather the minigame presents to us. William is also obviously driving back home after killing Charlotte Emily at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza due to the connections between Security Puppet and Midnight Motorist. Now that we've established that Yellow Man is William Afton, let's get into the next character...
PART 2: Who is Couch Person?
In order to later identify the Runaway, I feel like we should identify who Couch Person is first! Upon first seeing Couch Person, they appear to be someone who is very familiar with William Afton, as well as his behavior towards the Runaway Son due to this person treating William as an equal when telling him to leave the Runaway alone. If one analyzes Couch Person's sprite closely, you can see that not only do they wear a dress/robe, but they also speak in a text color that appears to be more of a whitish-gray than Mike's gray text color during FNAF 4.
For reference, here's one of Mike's quotes from FNAF 4:
Yeah, it does seem like Couch Person and Mike are two separate characters! But if not Mike, then who is this person? Well, I think it makes the most sense for it to be Mrs. Afton (or Mike's Mother). Not only does the dress/robe fit more, but notice how both Mike and Crying Child share certain traits with Couch Person! Mike wore gray clothing and watched TV late at night just like Couch Person, and Crying Child spoke in white text while also sharing pretty similar dark eyes as Couch Person. With that said, it makes the most sense for Couch Person to be the ever-elusive Mrs. Afton! Now that we have both Afton Parents accounted for in this minigame, let's solve which of their 2 sons is the Runaway Kid next...
PART 3: Who is the Runaway?
Okay, I'm going to rip off the band aid right now! I'm really confident in saying that Mike is indeed the Runaway for many reasons! One of the reasons is, the Runaway seems to be rebellious in general, given how he broke a window and ran away despite knowing how horrible and abusive William can be as a father. That's not something the Crying Child would do, especially since he cried 24/7 during the FNAF 4 Minigames, and didn't seem too keen on breaking windows, as well as running away multiple times. We can analyze the Runaway's personality all we want, but there's one specific detail that fully convinced me of "MikeRunaway," and it's something I don't really see discussed as much...
MIKE SAW HOW CHARLOTTE EMILY DIED! Ticket To Fun showed us that Mike is the one writing in the UV style, so that means that he was the one to make a drawing of Charlotte Emily mere moments before she died by William, meaning he was at Freddy's when the murder occurred! Now, I don't think Mike knew his dad killed Charlotte, but this definitely helps identify the Midnight Motorist Runaway! We can see that Mike is the Runaway, and he escaped to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza the same night Charlotte Emily died! We know this to be the case, because TTF is supposed to happen around FNAF 1, meaning that Mike probably wouldn't have had any other opportunity before FNAF 1 to witness Charlotte's Death! With all three main Aftons accounted for in this minigame, let's try to answer something else...
PART 4: The Footprints
I've seen this idea gain more popularity lately (especially after the release of TUG 2.0), but I truly believe these footprints come from none other than Bonnie himself! Not just any regular Bonnie, but Nightmare Bonnie! Why do I say Nightmare Bonnie? It's because of something I don't see discussed a whole lot lately...
The Nightmare Animatronics are seen outside of the Afton House! One may say this is meta, but after the release of TUG 2.0 and Chica's Secret Party, I'm more inclined to believe that William originally had the Nightmare Animatronics (more specifically Nightmare Bonnie) set up outside Mike's window as a prop to scare him before utilizing the FNAF 4 Bedroom as the experiment room for these Nightmares to be used. I don't believe the footprints belong to Golden Freddy due to BV not being able to see, and there isn't a lot to suggest it's Shadow Freddy either! With this said, I want to discuss the next piece of the puzzle for this minigame:
PART 5: The YEAR
Between every other continuity showing Charlotte Emily dying at a separate location from the MCI Freddy's, as well as the rising popularity of "FNAF2Fredbears," it is so clear that Game Charlotte ALSO died at a location different from the 1985 MCI Location! Between this, and the "87" dice on Afton's Car from FLAF, I think it's clear that this minigame happens in 1987 right after William killed Charlotte outside Freddy's! William's car hitting a maximum of 200 mph is another piece of evidence that convinced me of "Charlie/MM87" due to the first car hitting 200 mph was from 1987.
Now, I'm not going to talk about the Mound due to not knowing what that damn thing is supposed to be, but I will talk about...
PART 6: JR's
It's simple, I think it's a bar! Between the many cars being at this location on a late rainy night, as well as Green Guy acting like a bouncer, it's so clear to me that this location is a bar, and GG is the bouncer that won't allow William to cause a scene due to possible previous violent acts from Afton in this bar!
Well, this has been my full view on what Midnight Motorist is supposed to be about! If you have any alternative ideas for anything I've brought up here, please don't be afraid to share your ideas!
