First few days into treatment and things feel worse each day... when did you start to feel better?

Question

I'm only on day 5 of treatment, I have 33 trays and I knew I should expect some discomfort... but I'm having a very hard time adjusting. What's disappointing is that it seems to be getting harder each day. I was totally fine day 1-2 but now:

  • I basically have cuts all over the inside of my mouth and on my tongue
  • My teeth and gums hurt pretty much constantly so I'm relying on pain killers
  • My lips are insanely dry, my throat always feels dry too
  • I have probably 20+ attachments and they make eating super uncomfortable, I always feel like I have food in my teeth so now eating feels like a chore
  • Sometimes I prefer having the trays in rather than out because then I don't have to deal with the discomfort of the attachments
  • But sometimes having the trays in for a super long time makes me feel claustrophobic (for a lack of a better description) and I just want to rip it out and have a break
  • I literally cannot figure out how to take them in/out without the little tool

I've been sticking to the 22 hour wear time and doing my best and trying to stay positive but I feel kind of defeated right now..

I can only imagine how awful this is going to be when I need to switch to tray 2

When did things start to feel better for you?

Do you have any advice to make some of these things easier?
