What stats/class should I go with?

I want to make a character that is, in short, a robot with a sort of core within it that allows it to perform magic.

So an innate ability to do magic tells me that my primary class should be sorcerer, but I don't think I should have a good Charisma score. I think I'd have a good Intelligence score, meaning wizard, but my character wouldn't exactly be studying spells since it's a robot, and a part of the character is that I just know stuff and I don't really know why or how.

Really any advice would be helpful, this would be my first time making a more complex character. (Previously just Goblin Bard and Human Fighter)
