The film, in my opinion, is an outstanding achievement in the horror scene. From start to finish, this film is everything Horror should be. No cheap jumpscares, just pure, disturbingly horrifying atmosphere, and few \[VERY\] effectively well done scares, and few moments where they really pushed that R-Rating for some disturbing moments.

The film really sells the liminal space horror of the backrooms and rewards it's brave viewers with some truly gnarly and disturbing moments that even some my deem "pushing the boundaries" of it's R-Rating.

While not overly gory in a visual sense, the insinuation of gore is EXTREMELY high and there, and the sound design is all that's there for everyone to see or hear. There is >!a death in the film that contains a character being gruesomely torn apart in gory chunks \[Possibly disembowelled\] off camera and their bleeding corpse is being dragged across the carpet into a supposed dark room.!<

One moment that not only disturbed me, but actually made me genuinely scared, was >!the reveal of the Monster near the end. Now it is not confirmed what it is, but it is either a Still Life copy of Clark in his Pirate outfit, or a variation of the Bacterial Lifeform from Kane's shorts, taking and deformed appearance as Clark. The reveal also had the creature seem almost nonchalant and calm, almost as if Clark befriended the monster \[Somehow\]. Only for it to literally dig it's teeth into Clark's neck slowly, making him scream in agony and blood splurging out, and killing him off screen \[But the scene doesn't shy away in it's sound design to insinuate the Monster is literally tearing him apart slowly\]. Most definitely the scariest part of the film for me, not to mention the gruesomely sad deaths of Clark's employee's.!<

This film is everything I wanted in a Backrooms film and Kane's first debut was actually a surprise.

My review... [SPOILERS]
