A5M MultiMaterial - print by object help

Are there any guides/recommended settings for multimaterial and print by object?

It's my first time doing either and having some issues.

the main one being that after the first material, while in the purge tower the extruder jams. I'm really not sure what the issue is.

Secondary issue is i have it set to print by object, but it's still printing each layer.
