Looking for input - Beginning this journey and would love input from other perspectives. Lurked a very long time but now looking to transition more 36/mtf
Hi there! Thanks for clicking in and having a quick read. Long title and silliness aside, I hope I can share my story and would love to hear yours and your thoughts on this. If it's too long don't wanna read, tell me your fun girlie tip for my own sake. Shaving Tips, Make-up and suggestions and other goodies <3
I recently started my own journey of accepting of who I'am. 36 MtF. In that process I wanted to write down who that was and perhaps share it with an audience who may have some advice or tips?
For reference, I'm a life long cross dresser. Always loved wearing womens clothing despite thinking I was a CIS Male. It was confusing. I was caught often and told to repress it. Looking back I think it was because I was invading the private spaces of my parents to get those feminine clothes. I was scared and ashamed and I definitely owe them a big apology, which I think I've given but I should do again soon just to be sure.
I've recently started to look into doing this more. Hormones and Therapy, being me more around the house more. I came out to my wife of many years who knew I was a cross dresser. Already had a wardrobe and acceptance there so this was just another step.
I try to be cautious with her too - Its still a scary change. Her parents and friends along with my own are likely to not be receptive. Its okay if I lose my friends and family but I want and need to minimize that for her as much as possible. I'm still okay going "guy" mode as I fully intend to keep that for a while. It's something I'm happy and comfortable with both in my working world and for our families and loved ones to keep the peace - especially if I can be this way at home. Any advice here? I want to support her and any struggles she has - encourage her to disengage and feel safe and comfortable in our space together. Make it a priority to do date nights? Affection and time spent together? She's still my other half and I want her to know that any changes or things I do here doesn't diminish it. Her feelings are extremely valid too and I worry I may spoil or overwhelm. She reassures me im not which helps. I've told her all this too with lots of hugs and love yous.
With that said, looking into getting my ears pierced. Any tips on good shaving? Make up? I'm also trying not to go over board buying a new wardrobe but my old guy clothes are worn and I don't want to buy any of those. So far just comfortable normal looking clothing to wear day to day around the house. I work from home often so I'm now always dressed and I think my coworkers have already noticed my mood improve drastically in a positive way when I do. HR at my work knows what i'm doing too so we can both cover our bases legally speaking. Did I miss anything?
Oh and my eating habits are starting to shift already. Thinking maybe lean on protein shakes or easier to digest things ahead of time?
Oh and to gush. Can't wait for my hair to get longer. Always hated getting hair cuts.
tl;dr - Transitioning. It's scary. Is what I'm doing okay?
