Ranunculus Flowers
Hello!
I am on year three of trying to grow Ranunculus flowers. I always seem to get them in the ground too late or warm weather starts earlier than anticipated and they die back.
I am in zone 5b/6a. Until recently, the weather has been about 60-70 degrees. Last week and this week we have started having so days that are 80-90. It’s dropping back down to 70 for the next few days but I anticipate it’s going to start getting to steady 80s in the next week or two.
This year I have a good amount that have don’t have blooms but have grown pretty steadily, I feel like I might be 2-3 weeks away from seeing a bloom. The weather is now warming up so I am worried they will now start fading.
Is there any recommendations or suggestions anyone might have to try to beat the heat so I can finally get a bloom? I was wondering if moving it to pots and maybe moving it in the garage during the hottest part of the day might work. Or if they would bloom if I put them in a pot in doors in a sunny location.
Okay if there is not an answer. If anyone grows these flowers in similar zone can you please let me know around what date you get them planted?
Thank you for any help you can provide!
