I am attempting to make my name more present through social media… but i’m having difficulty specifically with Facebook. They have a “real name” policy (ridiculous) has anyone had trouble with this too?

I have tried to make a facebook with my stage name, but they are declining it since it is not my “real name.” They will let me create the account with an extra character at the end (I just added one more of the last letter in my name) but I hate that - that isn’t accurate to my name.

How can I bypass this so that I can promote/be tagged in shows and posts?? I am so frustrated by this “policy” and can imagine in affects way more than just performers. Why can we make profiles with chosen names?
