Advice on what to expect healing wise post menisectomy
Hello lovely Redditors! Just looking for a bit of advice/reassurance from folks with experience rather than Google AI!
I had a partial menisectomy about 13 weeks ago, and I've been good with my exercises, gradually building, adding weight and load as directed by PT.
I started a jog walk return to running gradually building to a 25 min run this week at about 7 min/km pace so nothing too intense. The week before I did a 75 km bike ride, some hikes and a four hour hike with about 500 m ascent/descent. It's been a bit niggly since coming back to activities, it's always been clicky so I'll ignore that, but it's been aching at night a bit the past week and waking me up, when I click it it seems to relieve it. During the day it's generally ok, gets a bit grumpy sat at my desk and going downstairs.
So I guess my question really is what did you find normal? The surgeon told me that it would settle over a number of months and catching and crunching was part of the process but the waking up at night is a bit alarming, but I suppose activities are a new load to adjust to? I recognised the irritating aches, noises and pains before, and I'm now super wary of this 'new knee'! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
