Gun Ownership or possession in JA as emigrated US Citizen

Hello. Born and raised in Jamaica and also a naturalized US Citizen. Considering taking my entire family for a trip to visit the homeland. However, I'm not entirely comfortable being there unarmed. We are mostly women and small children, so very precious and vulnerable cargo. Is there a process for citizens (though emigrated) to possess a firearm? Is it a process I can do remotely or will they need me to be in person for? I'm a firearm owner and concealed carry, currently (not that it matters). No record of any sort. Just curious if anyone's been through a similar situation. Thank you!
