Credit card debt - collections

Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone here has gone through the collections process with credit card companies and ended up being offered a settlement instead of being recommended to external collections. If so, how much did they settle for, how long did it take before they offered it and how much did it impact your credit score negatively?

Just trying to understand how the process usually works in real life. Appreciate all your feedback. Thanks
