Does the enviroment you grew up with influence on how you build?

Discussion

TL;DR: Basically the title with an example: Grew up with parents having a big bedroom with a single wardrobe and a couple's bed, and now I can't find myself building bedrooms beyond the idea of having more than a single wardrobe and a double bed because, internally, I find it abnormal.

I had to stop midway building to put this frustration out: I'm incapable of building the parents/head of the house's bedroom (master bedroom?) with more personality than a dry wall. My (irl) parents bedroom consist of one (1) two-door small (!) wardrob that they share and a couple's bed, and that's it. No rugs, no blinds, no wall paintings, photos, no decoration... nothing. It has been like this for as long as I've been alive. And it is the biggest bedroom out of the 3 we have.

"Ok... What does this fact about your life have to do with the title?" The thing is... I can't not find a way of build the parents bedroom in ts4 without thinking a single small wardrobe and bed is enough. This usually is pretty natural, I don't notice until I zoom out and notice the master bedroom is the only room that looks unsettling compared to the rest of the houses I build.

And when I try (oh, and I try!!), I take hours, and in the end I notice that my sense of aesthetics are gone and it turns out to be the most basic room (and probably the most ugliest too) in the house. It is like all my interior design knowledge (graduated in the sims) are gone in a snap!!

The contrast is the kids, teens and young (single) adults bedroom: Always cluttered with their tastes, just like my bedroom and my sibling's.

And yes, I could go at pinterest and copy some aesthetics, but I still feel like I'm doing too much. I feel wrong about decorating it because it doesn't sound to me as a room of the house that should be decorated.

Still, I really want to decorate it!! My sim is a witch, soon to be married by a hipster and I was planning a super nature themed bedroom, with earth witch aesthetics, but my mind keeps blocking me from pursuing my creative ideas!! It has been 1 hour and 34 minutes exactly and I haven't progressed a single furniture beyond a wardrobe and a double bed! God Dammit!😂
