RTO question

Policy / Rule Interpretation

Forgive me for not being very educated on this issue, I am a state worker but we’ve already returned to office locations for the most part and I’m not up to speed on the current RTO order.

So I understand the resistance to the office and certainly can understand the argument of added cost to the State for office space and facilities they closed before COVID. For the folks that want to keep working from home, did you accept those jobs with the understanding they were permanent remote positions? Was there no mention of having to return eventually? How about those of us that worked for the state prior to COVID and discovered how productive we (myself included) could be from home?

I read a lot here about how unfair the RTO order is, but I’m wondering, because I wasn’t part of the fully remote community, were you promised permanent remote positions?

No judgement and I have no horse in this race. I’m in the office full time and have been except for the first few months of the pandemic.
