Near as a woman
Why didn't the authors, after >!L's death!<, make the new detective as a man and a woman? they should have thought about it. If Near had been a woman, it would have been also very fitting.
Also, Near's voice actor seems to be a woman?
Both in the Japanese and English dub, Near seem to be voiced by a woman or a very feminine/childlike voice.
It could also have added a touch of comedy or enemies to lovers kind of feel in their rivalry. The calm, smart, collected and introvert woman, and the impulsive, dangerous, charismatic, extraverted man.
Idk, it just looked so interesting in my brain.
Maybe because I feel like in this anime, women are written really badly and represented in an almost offensive way.
(Naomi, one of my favourite characters, was the only smart woman and she >!was instantly killed off!<. Misa and Takada are straight up airheads, with Misa being slightly smarter) .
!Or they could have NOT KILLED NAOMI MISORA and maybe have her as L's substitute!<
