Ovarian symptoms? Help :(
About 1.5–2 weeks ago, on the last day of my period, I suddenly developed severe bloating that lasted about a week. My stomach looked and felt so bloated that I genuinely felt pregnant, and I’ve never experienced anything like that before.
At the same time, I had pretty intense pelvic/lower abdominal pain that made it hard to function normally. It didn’t feel like a GI/stomach bug issue, but eating anything — even small/light meals — made the pain noticeably worse. A heating pad helped a lot.
I did NOT have:
- nausea/vomiting
- fever
- one-sided pain (the pain felt spread across the pelvic area)
- abnormal bleeding
As of 2 days ago, everything completely resolved and I’m back to feeling 100% normal.
Of course I Googled it, and now I’m terrified because the symptoms overlap with ovarian cancer, but I’m also seeing things about ovarian cysts and other benign causes. I already made an appointment with my PCP, but it’s in 2 weeks (which will be about 3.5 weeks from when symptoms first started).
Does this sound like something that can safely wait for a PCP appointment since symptoms resolved, or should I try to get seen sooner somewhere else? Would urgent care even be appropriate for this? If it were cancer, would symptoms resolve so quickly?
For context: 34F, no family history of cancer, and basically no prior medical history. I cannot be pregnant (husband has vasectomy). I’m not very experienced navigating health issues and I’m honestly really scared.
