Inexplicably Scared for the Future
Hi everyone. I’m currently 21 and just finished my junior year of college and I’m incredibly scared of the day I have to graduate. I’ve never looked forward to the day I’ll have to graduate college and bid my youth adieu and the prospect of it being my last year of college is finally here and it’s frightening the fuck out of me.
Don’t get me wrong, I have pretty good career opportunities lined up after school, I’m involved on campus and have a solid resume, that’s not my fear. My fear is leaving everything it provides behind to spend 10 hours a day behind a screen. The parties, the friends, the women, everything gone to be stuck in some city really far away from everyone I know, devoid of any easy means of socializing or quick bases to make friends and relationships.
I know life is not so miserable after graduating and I’m just amping my fears up, but it genuinely seems like it’s fucking over for me on a social level once I graduate. What makes me fear it so much is that I had an internship in a city far away from anyone I knew and it was miserable! Tbf I wasn’t 21 so I couldn’t go to bars. I was able to meet a few girls off dating apps but that’s about all the interaction I got besides work.
Dating is a whole nother game. It’s been a lot easier to find women as an upperclassman but I’ve never had a serious relationship in my life. My fear with graduating is that senior year is too late for that and I’ll have graduated without ever experiencing love in my adolescence. I don’t struggle with women, (I sometimes do) but it’s really getting to me that I’m gonna leave and have missed out.
Is there anything anyone can tell me to prove otherwise? Or any advice to avoid ending up as I did last summer after graduating? Or just on how to find women post graduation?? Thanks so much :)
