For Investment Bankers: M&A, ECM, DCM, or Restructuring?

If the goal is to maximize lifetime career earnings… which of these are the best to go into?

I’m thinking both in terms of senior level pay IN these roles and exit opportunities (like PE, VC, hedge funds, etc.) down the road.

Also curious if there is better or worse WLB between the roles.
