Can I use PKSM to check if my eggs will hatch shiny in gen 4? (Specifically SoulSilver).

I heard it works for gen 6 from a post I saw while looking online, and some ai sumarries (I know...) says it does work for SS too. Though that isn't enough for me and I thought asking here would help since that gen 6 post was from here.

So if anyone who has done or tried checking if an egg will hatch shiny in pksm for gen 4, please tell me if it works or not 🙏
