Wells Fargo Teller Phone Screen Interview

Hey everyone,

I had my first-round phone interview with a recruiter for a Bank Teller position at Wells Fargo today, and I completely choked on the behavioral questions.

The logistics part went perfectly—my availability, location, and pay expectations all lined up exactly with what they needed. But as soon as the recruiter started asking behavioral situational questions ("Tell me about a time when..."), my anxiety spiked and my brain completely froze. I couldn't think of stories on the spot, and I feel like my answers were totally disorganized and off-point.

I currently work in a high-volume customer service role with a ton of cash handling, register balancing, and strict compliance rules, so I know I am fully capable of doing the actual job. I just let the interview nerves get the absolute best of me today.

I know I probably won't move forward with this specific opening, but I don't want to give up on becoming a teller.

Any advice on how to practice or structure behavioral answers for the next bank application would be massively appreciated. Thanks.
