Feedback on solar society

❓ Ask Belgium

.Hey guys,

I just bought my first house and really want to install solar panels. I'm looking for advice on how to avoid getting scammed, as well as some feedback on which company I should go with. I live in Wallonia.

The companies I've already been in contact with are:

Solena: (+ cutting-edge Aiko solar panels, + properly sized Growatt battery)

Wattsun: (- standard JNL solar panels, - price per panel is very high, - undersized battery, + good overall total price)

Baufond Construction: (+ cutting-edge Aiko solar panels, - extremely high price due to the battery, - they quoted an oversized 24kWh battery, - there are some weird clauses in the contract)

Conseil Ami: (+/- almost premium GMEPG panels, + well-sized 10kWh battery, + no shady contract clauses I have to sign)

Also, my roof has two sides, facing North-East (NE) and South-West (SW). Some companies recommend putting 12 panels on the SW side and 4 on the NE side to maximize production. Others tell me that putting 4 on the NE side is overkill and they will barely produce anything.

For my 12-panel configuration, the average recommended battery size across the board was 6-7 kWh max. (Don't know if it's overkill or not)

Regarding my electrical setup, I have a three-phase connection without a neutral. Some have told me to get a 4.6kW Delta or a 5kW single-phase inverter. From what I understand, they basically do the same thing, a true "three-phase without neutral" inverter doesn't really exist, and either way, the excess load will just be spread into the battery.

I really don't know how to choose. What are the main things I should be looking out for? Has anyone here used any of these companies, and if so, what is your feedback?

Thanks in advance!

P.S. I also had an idea to create a wiki page tracking which companies are safe and which are not. I recently got badly scammed by a plumber who emptied my septic tank, so having a community-curated list of trustworthy companies would be amazing.
