The UK feels like it's becoming more unpleasant for people, are British people becoming more hateful?

Recently my mom who is British born and raised, knows no other languages or culture and has only lived in the UK her entire life and received some racial abuse on the street by some angry person and she's witnessed it more and more in her city.

I've noticed online people are just becoming more racist and hateful overall also the amount of racists stating that because I'm not white I'm not British is becoming more and more common.

Seeing the news and articles everyone always seems to be filled with so much hate for people.

I'm noticing British society overall seems to be becoming more hateful and angry then when I was growing up and having lived in other countries I've noticed there is a lot less hate and angry going around compared to the UK.
