can you truly forget something you’ve done that goes against your ocd theme?

i know that ocd is ego dystonic and thrives off making the person distressed and ruminate 24/7, but it’s a question i’m wondering.

i have pocd and so i hate being around kids and am nervous to be around them, but no one really knows that. so when im forced to be around them i can get really tense, though i try to play it off as normal. and can talk with them normally, even if im anxious.

last summer i went over to my aunt’s friend’s house for her birthday along with my mom and aunt and even though i was 21 at the time, i was forced to play with the friend’s kid. she was too energetic for me and i eventually refused to play with her and stuck with my mom or went on my phone, but i have a memory where one of the toys she had out fell and went near my crotch and i freaked out and put the toy far away from her reach, but when it was time to pick the toys up i let her grab said toy and didn’t try to do anything else besides it. i was trying to rationalize that i didn’t mean for the toy to fall there, but i let her put the toy away anyway.

i mean i guess i put hand sanitizer on the toy so it could be clean or i rubbed it on the carpet so it would be clean but im getting conflicting memories.

i remember looking back on that day normally with nothing that alarmed me until now. i want to tell my aunt to ask if i did anything to the kid but it feels embarrassing to ask?

i know people can forget some thoughts due to trauma, but can an ocd sufferer forget something they’ve done that goes against their fears?
