Is there an extreme uptick in scams/attempts over the past years?

Random question, I know. Sorry if it doesn't belong here. Obviously this sub is obvious but I wanted to know if there were "a lot" of scams in the past years/decades, or has the quantity/"quality" of scams have exploded in these past years (2020s)?
