What I learned from experience about eupgrade to business

I bought an economy seat with a guarantee eligible upgrade to business class, domestic

This is what happened:

My upgrade is received, it's guaranteed

Flight got canceled due to whatever reason Air Canada wants to use

My flight is delayed for x hours, now I am in the economy, and lost my business class

of course I got my eupgrade points back, but...
