Gold for jewelry work

Does anyone know of a jeweler in the area that will take gold jewelry as trade or credit toward repair work or custom silver jewelry?

I have some gold pieces that I never wear and likely never will, and I'd rather put their value toward fixing a few silver pieces I already own or possibly having something new made. I don't want a pawn shop, I’m hoping to find a jeweler.

Bonus points if you've personally used them and had a good experience.
