Don't be like these idiots at the movies

Okay so im gonna start off by saying im actually not a grouchy old person but im also a teenager (18F). Also, this might not be the right sub because i mostly see weird thirst traps and shit here but whatever i gotta reach my target audience i guess. Also this is a long rant because it pissed me off but whatever

Earlier on me and my dad went to the movies and everything was going really well until about 5 or so minutes in, this group of 5 teens who i guess were a little younger than me (like 15-16? Two boys and three girls) walked in late and sat right behind us. Right from the start they were fucking ANNOYING. And I don't just mean like normal annoying. I mean like, talking and screaming out loud and kicking the back of my chair and giggling about it kind of annoying. Like, OBNOXIOUSLY annoying. They constantly kept getting up and chasing each other out and in of the room??? Like twin this isnt a fucking playground and you're not toddlers. One of the boys was messing around with his phone watching reels/tiktoks without earbuds or anything and doing something with his phone flashlight too. They were throwing bits of popcorn at each other and eating it disgustingly loud. Like every single FUCKING cliche about an annoying person at the movies is what they were doing and im not even close to kidding. And it wasn't just me and dad who got annoyed, other people on our row were giving them pissed off looks. (Also I dont wanna hear anything about “Oh well u didnt tell them to stop, soooo 🤷‍♀️” YOU FUCKING SHOULDNT BE ACTING THAT WAY IN A MOVIE THEATRE IN THE FIRST PLACE??? LIKE ACTUALLY READ THE ROOM AND HAVE SOME BASIC SOCIAL ETTIQUETE AND RESPECT FOR OTHER PEOPLE 😭😭😭)

I feel like whenever u complain about this stuff theres going to be people who have this mindset of “Oh theyre/we're just kids let them/us have fun!! 😒” You can have fun at the park. You can have fun at your house. You can have fun at school. You can literally have fun and be immature wherever you want, thats fine. But the movies are NOT THAT PLACE. THEY ARE NOT YOUR PERSONAL AREA TO GOSSIP AND MESS AROUND WHILE THE MOVIE IS PLAYING. YOU ARE RUINING IT FOR OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAVE PAID TO BE THERE AND WANT TO ENJOY THE MOVIE IN PEACE. And like I get that when youre that age u think ur the hottest shit in the world for doing that and trying to show off in front of ur friends but actually you're just a total asshole when you're ruining it for every other person in that whole movie theatre. Jesus I literally cannot believe some people our age dont get that. You should have that down by age 9 or 10 at the latest. Idgaf if im overreacting. I get that they had the right to be there as much as anyone else, but they weren't even watching the movie, they were just talking out loud and messing around for the whole 1hr 45 mins. Me and my dad took about 20 mins of it before we decided we couldnt take it and we literally got up and moved seats. Thankfully we managed to get through the rest of the movie in peace in our new seats but I feel AWFUL for the people who stayed sat around them.

Don't be like them. Just be respectful of all the other people in the movies, don't talk loudly, dont throw your food around, dont kick and rest your feet on the backs of people's chairs, dont have your phone out if its not an emergency, dont go in and out more times than you need to, just be a SENSIBLE PERSON FOR ONCE IN YOUR LIFE AND SIT AND WATCH THE MOVIE LIKE YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO!??!?!?! 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
