weights vs stabilizer?

So for Olympic recurve, I'm currently using the Doinker Storm on Hoyt Comp riser and Podium limbs. From my understanding the stabilizer helps both with the vibration and weight balance. Even without the stabilizer, I found my Comp riser with Podium limbs was the best setup to reduce the vibration (tested all combos first before buying). Therefore the vibration doesn't concern me. Especially if I fire really well, the whole shot feels very smooth and soft.

Getting back to it, I know my riser has 3 slots (center top and bottom) on the riser. I was curious on trying the weights on the riser and what people recommend., Just as an added bonus, I was going to use larger rubber blocks/plates (like what comes with the Doinker Storm) on the end of the 1-4oz weights. It was advised to me that if I were to put the weights on either top or bottom of the bow, I would need to put it on -both- top -and- bottom to ensure balanced limb flexing. I was thinking I would have just put it on the center (where the stabilizer rod goes).

  1. Thoughts on using center weight, top-and-bottom weights or all 3.

  2. Which brands do people suggest?

I get the feeling I probably will need to get two sets of weights s(as I'm not sure if any weights are sold in sets/pairs.
