Hi I am currently thinking about becoming an entomologist but I have some doubts I hope if there is any entomologist form india I can get some help

1. Salary / long-term earnings

I don't mind studying for a long time if I enjoy the work. My concern is whether a research career can eventually provide a comfortable life.

For people working in entomology, zoology, ecology, or related biological sciences:

What is a realistic salary progression from PhD to postdoc to scientist?

What do mid-career researchers (30s–40s) typically earn?

Are salaries in the ₹25–50 LPA range realistic in research, or is that mainly limited to industry/abroad positions?

2. How much actual insect research do you do?

Something that surprised me is that many biology career discussions focus on genetics, molecular biology, bioinformatics, biotech, coding, etc.

If I become an entomology researcher:

Will I actually spend most of my time studying insects?

How much fieldwork is involved?

How much of the job becomes general biology, data analysis, grant writing, teaching, or administration?
