Anyone experiencing issues with mental health, and their inner child needs some healing
I wrote this letter for my niece's upcoming birthday. We've both been through a lot and each have our struggles. I wish at 13 I had someone to tell me things will be okay, that I was loved, and that the best thing I could be was myself. I hope whoever reads this, you read it as if it was directed to you. You are loved, and worthy, and perfect just the way you are.
"To the Biggest Brat I love SO MUCH, who is so creative, smart, sensitive, the silliest goose, and an absolutely beautiful girl, HAPPY 13TH BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!! I will never forget the first few months of your life when you got to come over to [ name ] house a couple days a week, where I first got to hold you and snuggle you. You were my first baby I ever held on my own, and I wasn't even supposed to pick you up. I knew from that day, and the way you gave me your biggest, toothless smile, that I loved you with my whole heart and soul, and I'm so excited I've gotten to watch you grow up into a big teenager. Even though sometimes life gets hard and isn't fair, I hope you remember that I am always here for you. I hope your new adventure into the teenage years brings you lots of new memories, skills, friends, and experiences. I hope you stay sassy, and a bit of a weirdo. I'm sure you’ll find yourself trying to fit in with people who think being weird is different, but I want you to remember that there is no other Hallie Raine, no other weirdo could ever replace you, or your goofy smiles and funny faces in pictures. No one who could replace the girl who loves all babies, and any animal she comes across. Not a single girl in the world could ever replace how talented you are, and how creative you can be. As you enter this new chapter, I want you to know you are never alone, no matter how hard life gets or how impossible it seems. You can do absolutely anything you set your mind to, because you are one of the most stubborn girls I know (you get it from me), and I know you will do amazing things in this lifetime. A final Happy Birthday, to my first baby I got to hold, my first baby I got to call a brat, and my oldest niece I get to watch as she discovers what beautiful things this life has to offer. I love you SO MUCH and I can't wait until we can go on many more adventures together.
Love, your Auntie".
