Entering via land border

My current work permit is expiring in a few weeks. I have applied for PR and received my AOR, I applied for a BOWP and received confirmation that I will be on maintained status until a decision is made.

Question: I am in the USA on vacation and driving back over the border in a few days. Will I encounter any trouble? They will see I have such limited time left on my work permit. I remember years ago, it was advised to not mention a pending PR application. Why? I intend to be truthful.
