Frustrated af

I got a score of 605 (1972 rank) and am yet unable to get anything. I'm very stubborn about wanting vlsi only, and now I'm feeling dumb. I thought it was a decent score, but it surely isn't enough. This morning I had a chat with my parents (chat is a very sugarcoated word for the interaction we had), but they made me realise that I don't have any backups. What am I going to do if I don't get anything that I want? I checked out NIT cutoffs, and all achievable nits are shit in terms of placements. The only realistic backup that I have is IIIT Bangalore, which is a good college, but still my parents expected IITs, or at least BITS. I'm feeling very sad, I wanna vent out but I know they are right. I discussed taking a drop as well since I'm only 21 and in my final year, but they suggested against it. They told me to take admission in mtech and then reappear, which anyways was the case with me. I'm feeling like a failure rn.
