Woke up with a stiff sore lower back, pressure in hips, and tight thighs. Is it a pulled muscle or something more?
I (F28) woke up on the 26th of May with a stiff sore lower back with limited mobility. Some things that I can no longer do as I would normally:
Can’t sit criss cross on my bed (haven’t tried other surfaces). I usually sit criss cross with a tray table to eat, but not only can I no longer sit criss cross, but when I attempted that and tried to lift my tray up, I could not. It’s like I had no strength in me. Pain in the lower back crept in.
When getting out of bed, lifting my head up and towards my stomach brings on tightness in the lower back. I can no longer sit up in bed as normal. Now, I have to be flat on my bed and roll towards the edge feet first and then using my arms to push myself off and up from the bed.
Unable to lean/bend forward, it’s a limited amount that I can before the pain in my back creeps in. I have a difficult time leaning forward to wash my hands in the sink and end up having to spread my legs apart to get low enough to not bend over to use the sink.
I have difficulty putting on pants because I’m unable to move/bend my legs properly. I have to put my pants on the ground and slowly bend my knees and do a squat to pick up my pants to put them on, but doing this isn’t easy either.
Back tighten ups/freaks out if I’m laying on my side and try to do a big stretch tilting my upper body back.
Lower back tightens up when I sneeze.
When I lay flat on my bed with my legs/knees bent and bottom of my feet touching the mattress, and I try to lift my body up and my hips/stomach towards the ceiling, I physically can’t. My back tightens up instantly.

I haven’t experienced any sort of shock or tingling in my legs or thighs, only a bit of a dull kind of pain on the outer side of my right thigh.
Tight thighs, feeling a bit of pressure on my hips, and on the end of my lower back slightly more on the right side, not directly in the spine.
Standing still is as hard as trying to sit. I feel my body tighten up from little to no movement. I can walk, albeit very slowly with small steps but it feels better than feeling my body not move.
I did have a game night so I had moved my table for space and that’s something I frequently do. Since this has happened, I tried pulling the table but could not move it without my back and hips hurting. That could be one possibility.
I recently upped my dosage last week in Magnesium Glycinate. I started taking 2 capsules of 240mg each for chronic dizziness along with vitamin d, but stopped immediately when my back started hurting to rule it out. For the past 4 days now I only take 2 capsules of Advil, 200mg each. I’m not really sure it’s doing anything to relieve the pain. The pain doesn’t feel like it has decreased with each passing day. It feels the same. But I understand it has been only 4 days, so maybe I need more time to recover. I just wonder if it’s due to my recent change in vitamin dosage, pulled muscle, or could it be something more and should I be looking for professional help on this.
