Redmi 10 2022 screen only lighting up a lighter shade of black??

Essentially the title. Over the last month or so this has happened periodically but usually stops within an hour and goes back to normal. Updated the phone to MI UI 13 and that helped for a while, then it came back and right as I was about to update to 14 the thing goes dark in my hands and has been like that for the last 2 days.

I've tried restarting, going into fastboot, restarting while charging, trying to input my pin blind and I'm not really getting anywhere. Phone feels like it's working ok I just can't see what's going on. It's lighting up when it should be, making all the right noises, I just can't see anything. Power on, lighter shade of black. I do anything, lighter shade of black.
