SPIDERMAN DIES IN THE END OF BRAND NEW DAY
What if Spider-Man: Brand New Day is secretly setting up one of the most iconic moments from the comics?
Think about it. We've already heard rumors that the movie could take inspiration from Spider-Man's mutation storyline, and Marvel has been recreating famous comic book panels more and more in recent years. What if they're building toward the biggest one of all?
My theory is that Peter Parker dies at the end of Brand New Day.
Not a fake-out. Not a temporary defeat. An actual tragic ending.
After everything he's been through—losing Aunt May, losing MJ and Ned's memories, and carrying the weight of being completely alone—Peter finally makes the ultimate sacrifice. The movie ends with Spider-Man dead, and the world mourning its greatest hero.
But that's not where the story ends.
In the post-credit scene, we see Peter's grave in complete silence. The camera slowly moves closer. Then, from the darkness, a familiar black substance begins to crawl across the ground.
Venom.
The symbiote reaches Peter's grave and bonds with his lifeless body.
For a moment, nothing happens.
Then suddenly...
A hand bursts out of the dirt.
Just like the iconic comic book image.
Peter pulls himself from the grave, now wearing the black suit, recreating one of the most legendary Spider-Man panels ever created. The screen cuts to black.
And then the words appear:
"Spider-Man will return in Avengers: Doomsday."
Imagine the reaction in theaters.
A tragic ending. A shocking resurrection. The birth of the Black Suit Spider-Man. And a direct setup for Doomsday.
If Marvel really wants to bring comic book history to life, this could be the perfect way to do it.
