Advice on beard memo

Hey all,

I’ve had a permanent profile for shaving for the last 5 years ever since I got in. I’m a national guard pilot and with this new directive out I’m left between two choices: getting it laser removed or getting kicked out.

I thought getting laser treatment would thin the hair out enough for me to shave comfortably but they’re telling me that it gets rid of it permanently and may not be a full proof treatment and I may still get ingrown hairs. The doctor also told me it’s a life-changing treatment and that they wouldn’t do it at such a young age on your face.

What do I do? Has anyone gotten past this without getting their beards removed?

On top of this I’m having to pay the fee
