Fungus in Lens Glass Element - Should I repair it or forget about it?

Gear

I have a Sony E 55-210 Telephoto lens that I got as part of the kit when I first bought my A6000 8 years ago.

I quite like this lens and most of my best photos (wildlife ones mostly) have been shot using this lens. It's also the only Telephoto lens I have.

Unfortunately it's gotten fungus and according to Sony's service center, they need to replace the front glass element which will cost ₹5-6k (53-63 USD).

That's a quarter of the price of buying this lens brand new.

This is the second time it's getting fungus on it as well - the first time they were just able to clean it off so it didn't cost as much, but this time they're saying that the front glass element needs to be replaced.

What should I do?

Should I give up on the lens or is it worth spending the money to repair it?

My concern with repairing it is not the money itself but rather that the fungus situation might happen again. They can't give a guarantee that it won't happen again, and if it's on the front glass element, what's stopping it from spreading to the other glass elements and requiring that they be changed in the future?

I'm really unsure about how to proceed so thoughts, opinions, and advice are very welcome, thank you!
