I would really love an online community of fellow Filipino writers so I aim to make a discord channel for it!

I already have two activities planned:

Monthly Mini Milestones

Every month, there will be a release of 30 mini writing goals that members can choose from, or they can do it all! The intention of these goals is that each one of them should only take a day to complete. They are like daily writing prompts but it is up to the member which ones they will choose and how many they will complete. Mini goal example is as follows:

Come up with a local cuisine for your story’s setting. It could be a short description, a recipe, or a history included behind it.

Weekly Writing Wins

Every week, a writing goal will be released, and members who sign up will have their names listed down publicly. At the end of the week, the moderator will tag everyone to report on their progress and share their works if they want to.

Write a “filler episode” for a story you’re currently working on/want to revive. It’s not necessarily plot-relevant, but it should feature the same characters, setting and stay consistent to the elements established by the main plot. No word limit, but it should be a complete story.

There are other activities and spaces I’m planning but these two are the main events of the club which I will be calling Barangay Pluma aka Pen Town.

Maybe one day I will plan a face-to-face event preferably monthly but it will be some time before I decide the little club is trustworthy enough to safely meet in person. I’m also based in NCR so future F2F events would be limited to this place unless there are members who are willing to organize for their own places.
