How to not overbuild?

I’ve made a couple of saves and have ideas on how I want my ship organized. My brain automatically thinks I need to have all the spaces made, so I have the urge to just hull out the whole blueprint…which seems potentially inefficient…

There’s also the issue of even if I go ahead and put this thing in this spot “for now,” moving anything takes so long. These kids didn’t have beds one night because they broke them down and didn’t rebuild before break time when I moved the sleeping area.

What I I need to move a critical piece of infrastructure? Then there’s no power or system…

Forgive my whining, I didn’t get breakfast on time today 😫😂 …and this game makes me stay up late because the addiction is strong.
