ETF (SPR vs ETR) or PMF for Cyber Security + Master's abroad?
Hey everyone,
I’m choosing between four UCG programs with the goal of working globally in cybersecurity and doing a Master’s degree abroad in the EU/US later.
I already study practical coding and cyber labs on the side, and I'm looking for the best foundation:
ETF - ETR (Academic)
ETF - SPR (Applied)
PMF - C smjer (Academic)
PMF - D smjer (Applied)
Questions:
-
Academic vs. Applied: ETR and PMF-C have brutal abstract math/physics. SPR focuses more on networks, OS, and databases. Is the ETR grind worth it for cyber?
-
Master’s after Applied: If I finish ETF-SPR (Applied), will the "applied" label block me from English-taught Master's programs in the EU/US, or do they only care about the 180 ECTS credits?
-
The Time Trade-off: Is it smarter to take SPR to save mental energy for hands-on labs and certifications on the side, or does an academic engineering title carry way more weight globally?
Thanks for any insights!
