Cloud 6 tight on middle foot

Hey,
Bought some cloud 6 in size 12. Are they supposed to be so tight on the middle of my foot, feels like I’m being squished.
Also, my foot overhangs the sole, is this a design choice or do I simply have too wide feet for this shoe?
