Mockingbird high chair for tall/chunky baby

Hi all,

New to this sub. We’ve started solids last month and my now 7 month old seems to hate the mockingbird high chair that we bought 😕 He’s at least 20 pounds ( I need to weigh him again, it’s been a few weeks) and 30 inches long. It seems like the straps are just too short for him and I don’t think they can’t really extend any longer. Is there something I’m doing wrong? Are they able to extend and it’s just user error, or is this high chair just not a good fit for a longer baby?

My mom bought a cheap high chair from Walmart to keep at her house and it seems like he fits in it much more comfortably. The straps are very adjustable. He grunts and groans in the mockingbird and I’m noticing it leaves marks on his back. I don’t want him to associate eating with being uncomfortable!

Any recs for better high chairs? I’m bummed we spent so much money on something that doesn’t work for us, but I guess that’s life 🤷‍♀️
