Ivan Beck is a Still Life
If you haven’t seen the new A24 movie or seen the Kane Parson’s video “I Remember” or “Found Footage 3” this theory might be a bit shocking.
Firstly my theory is simple: Ivan Beck who first became exposed to the Backrooms was its first human observer, however, as seen with how the Backrooms functions. The complex can create Still Life’s or its version of human beings. Most Still Life’s are emotionless, hold little feelings, intelligence, etc, but somehow have human like traits such as knocking on doors or talking. However, not all Still Life copies are terrible as seen with Pirate Clark in the new A24 Backrooms movie.
My idea is that the reason why Ivan Beck is both the protagonist and antagonist, why he’s obsessed with finishing the Threshold, and why he’s obsessed with The Backrooms is because the Ivan Beck we have been following is a Still Life. He’s a near perfect copy of the real Ivan Beck. Evidence for this theory: 1) Ivan Beck is the narrator of “I Remember” 2) at the end of “I Remember” Ivan Beck is shown splitting into 2 perfect replicas in the middle of a room of pure green light 3) not all Still Life’s are the same and some are more complex such as Pirate Clark bleeding red blood 4) We are never shown Ivan Beck’s face except in fan art 5) Ivan Beck fanart created by Kane Pixels such as his music video “Still Life” has a man with a moon for his head. Now Wendagoon has stated that this image is Ivan Beck. So why would someone who’s supposed to human Ivan Beck be depicted as a Still Life’s?
Now the most important evidence is that Ivan Beck is both the protagonist and the antagonist. It would make sense that if Ivan Beck is a Still Life. His obsession with memory and going back home makes perfect sense. The Backrooms monsters aren’t ever depicted leaving The Backrooms, but what if the Still Life version of Ivan Beck got out and he’s using Asynch as a way of either merging Earth with The Backrooms or he’s trying to go home.
