why do people hate vegans so much?

I am not fully vegan (working towards it but circumstances make a fully vegan lifestyle unfortunately unattainable to me currently 😔) but one thing I’ve never understood, even when I was younger and had no intentions of veganism, is why people hated on it so much? Forgetting animal ethics (cz I think a lot of ppl don’t gaf abt animals lol) even just reducing meat intake to just once a week would do wonderful for the environment, it’s funny bc people hate AI but don’t mention the meat and fish industry at all
