Trying to craft gems but unsuccessful

Hey all, just started getting into the game recently and after trying to craft any gems, it says item received and the craft was successful, but none of my resources are spent and i don’t receive the gem, has anyone encountered this before or may have an answer? It’s a massive pain in the ass cuz i can’t even do the priority quest for it, thanks!
