What are LGBT People like in real life?
Hey so my name is Devin Taylor. I’m a 22yo straight white male conservative Christian dude. I’m an inquirer into Eastern Orthodoxy, and my ultimate goal is to become an Eastern Orthodox Monastic Monk. I have traditional views. I don’t vote and I don’t use social media and am not affiliated with any parties. I support economic, health, and housing rights for lgbt, I just don’t support some other things due to my religious beliefs.
I don’t hate lgbt people, and I don’t have anything against anyone, and I’m not here to debate or argue anything. I’ve been around a lot of different groups of people, Greeks, Hispanics, Black, White, etc. I go to a Greek Orthodox Church. But I haven’t really been around lgbt people that much since I was in high school.
I try and see everyone as made in gods image and love them on a basic human being level, as my neighbor. And in order to become a monk one day, I need to be able to respect and love my neighbors while still holding onto my beliefs. I wish for everyone to achieve Theosis one day.
So I was wondering what lgbt people are actually like in real life? Is the only difference literally just who you are attracted to? I mean we both spaghetti and other foods, I suppose. Do you guys face a lot of discrimination? And is all that stuff online just fake and government planted people?
I like Amir Odom and Blair White, they’re cool. But that’s basically all I know about the community.
I plan on remaining celibate my entire life. But If did have a son or daughter that turned out to be LGBT.
Firstly, they would be baptized and Chrismated into the Orthodox Church, have good friends with strong moral values, go to good schools, and have a spiritual family and mentors to guide them.
Secondly, I would not disown them, or force my beliefs on them, or send them to some conversion Theraphy place (I consider that abuse, and God does that, not human beings). I would share the truth with them though, gently and with respect and just be overall chill about things.
Third, I would keep in contact, and have chill relations.
Anyways, just to let you guys know where I stand on things: I’m not like the heretical westboro Baptist people, at the same time I’m not super ally activist kind of dude. I’m just a normal guy, who washes dishes. Seeking to understand my neighbors better.
Thanks! In Christ, Devin Taylor
