Skipping a day
My twin girls have been in the NICU for almost 7 weeks now, born at 30+5. No health problems just working on feeding right now, and its stressful. My wife was admitted 2 weeks prior due to one of the babies sacs breaking then an emergency c section after an infection set in. She also had twin to twin transfusion surgery back in February. So its almost 9 weeks total. I have been there everyday for at least 6 - 11 hours a a day (I stayed the night with my wife when she was admitted). I work 8-12 now and go to the NICU until 7:30 or 8 then we come home to take care of our 3 dogs.
I am beyond burnt out. My wife keeps telling me to stay home for a day and to relax and decompress. I feel so guilty if I were to miss a day. I know this topic has probably been repated a lot and I am sorry i just really need some reassurance. Is it truly OK if I miss a day? My wife is still going to go up today.
