What if businesses could fill call outs the same way Uber finds drivers?

One thing I've noticed is that when an employee calls out, managers usually start texting people, posting in Facebook groups, or calling around trying to find coverage.

What if there was a platform where businesses could instantly broadcast an open shift to qualified local workers and have someone accept it within minutes?

Think:

  • Uber's speed
  • LinkedIn's professional profiles
  • Built specifically for hourly work

The worker gets extra income.

The business fills shifts faster.

The platform handles matching, verification, scheduling, and eventually payroll.

The biggest concern I keep running into is the classic marketplace problem:

How do you get enough workers and enough businesses at the same time without spending millions on marketing?

If you were building this, how would you solve the chicken-and-egg problem?

What flaws do you see in the idea?

I'd love brutal feedback before I go further.
