Career Change Options ?

I am currently working in IT management (M 50) and kind of tired of the rat race and health concerns and a pretty much round the clock availability. Would like to explore other career options, I am a fairly skilled developer with an engineering background and also developed skills interacting with business customers. I am not too worried about the pay cut, would like good benefits (health holidays) etc. Has anyone made the successful transition? I am open to get trained and learn the necessary skills for the new role.
