How do I get an accounting job?

I have a background in home-health and I’m CNA certified. I have two semesters within an associates accounting program (36 credits) and I’ve been trying to find more work related to my field. Right now, I’m doing substitute work for a local school district but anytime I’m a secretary all I do is answer phone calls and check ID’s.

I’ve looked on Indeed and Snagajob and there’s not many jobs related to accounting here. I saw three within a 50 mile radius as of yesterday. Most of them require a bachelors degree and very few require an associates degree but I haven’t seen one that doesn’t require either. I’ve looked at data entry positions too and there’s just nothing around. I don’t know how to get my foot in the door when nothing is available for me.

I currently live in West Virginia if that’s any explanation. But I plan on relocating in less than a year.

Any advice?
