I hate bullshit chemistry

General

I’m not talking the media “element not on the periodic table” even though that pisses me off. (Because we know pretty much all of the stable elements and everything past a certain point on the table wants to rip itself in half after a set point of time.)

I’m talking about products using chemical formulas wrong. Like that coconut water that calls itself C2O. C2O is a fucking carbene(really reactive organic molecule type) and is so reactive it does not want to exist.

I’m talking about that bullllllshittt thing where people say it’s x-atoms(or molecules which people use interchangeably for some reason) away from something. Like the margarine is 1 atom away from plastic. A it’s not even true and probably the only reason it took off is because every organic molecule is a fuckton of carbons and hydrogens with a handful of other things tossed in. B 2 molecules can share the exact same amount of carbons and hydrogens and oxygens and whatever, But have totally different arrangements and thus totally different functions/properties.

I’m talking about people just being afraid of something because scary chemical names. People just listing the names of preservatives or even worst the names of vitamins. I get it, people are afraid of what they don’t know… but that can totally be used to sell people supplements or some shit.
